Issue with opening map

I've come across a very annoying problem with my map. Whenever I try to open it, it crashes whilst loading.

Though, if I load up a previous version of my map, and then open the new one; it works just fine.

Anyone have any clue to why this may be so? I'm using Newgen.

It sounds like that version got corrupted in some way. What exactly were you doing last time you saved it?

This happened to me one time, but it was becasue I was importing a whole bunch of junk, like models and icons and i think that had something to do with it, like i got a bad one or i didnt import something correctly. So if you imported stuff thins might be why.

If the above advice doesn't help, than you can still have a potential backup.
[wc3home]\Maps\Test\WorldEditTestMap
Or something akin to that - it's the last map you tested from the world editor.

And I forgot what it is, but if something happens to a texture it WILL cause the editor to crash if it's placed. But like I said, I forgot what it exactly was.

I'm not sure, though I suspect it might have been importing a new model.

Can you open it in the regular world editor?

Even if your map has vJASS, it should still open the reg WE.

Nope, it crashes just like newgen.

It may be the issue, I'll try removing the imported objects and loading again.

I don't test maps that way, for some reason it makes the game crash or just be very slow.

I'll see if it has to do with imported objects and post again once I've tried. :D

Edit: Removed all the newly imported stuff, but the map still crashes. Any other ideas? :/

Check your map initialization triggers.

For infinite loops, or if your using (v)JASS, debug your code.

Wait wait wait.
Is the map crashing when you open it in the world editor?
Or is it crashing when you load it in the game?

World editor, both Newgen and the regular one. Works fine ingame.

I just opened the old version and copied over new triggers to it and am now using that. Seems my problem was a file I imported. And altough I removed it from the new version and saved, it wouldn't open properly.

Thanks for the help guys :)

    Looks like Google fixed whatever mistake that made the recipes on the site go crazy and we are no longer trending towards a recipe site lol - I don't care though because it motivated me to spend alot of time on the site improving it and at least now the content people are looking at is not stupid and embarrassing like it was when I first got back into this like 5 years ago.

    Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.
