Another Spell Problem.

So in the map I am making, there are no heroes just regular units with the same skill. And I am trying to make dispersion, like in DotA. And so I would guess i need a defensive passive skill like evasion, but the problem is my other units have evasion. And so I'm wondering if there is any other skill we could use. I'm guessing I would use drunken brawler instead. But I have no idea how I'm going to get the dispersion to work.

So this is what I'm trying to do.

15% chance when hit to disperse all damage in an 600 AoE around you.

You need to use Jass on that skill because GUI isn't fast enough... Do you know how to Jass??

Import this on the predefined script (The very top in the triggers)..

Then make a trigger.. Add this as an action:

Custom Script: call Dispersed(<The Model Path of the Effect>, <The Chance>)
The Model of the Effect is the model path.. example is model/model/model.mdl something like that... Always remember that when doing Jass, paths have 2 "\" instead of one.... So the path looks like this "model\\model\\model.mdl"...
The Chance is the chance of happening.. you may want to add a variable into this.. Then insert it as this "udg_variablename"...

When done, it should looks like this

Code:
Events - Unit takes damage
Condition - Level of dispersed to triggering unit is greater than 0
Actions:
    Set Chance = 30
    Custom Script: call Dispersed("model\\model\\model.mdl",udg_Chance)

Edit: Updated the code.... a condition was added so that it wouldn't deal damage to friendly units...

Your slashes are going the wrong way. They should be like this: "\\". If you don't add the double slashes, the game will crash upon saving; just a warning.


On another note, ertaboy356b's code will not work; you need to pass the triggering unit as an argument like so:

Ok ^_^... But I used triggering unit upon testing.. that's because the event is a unit takes damage.... it worked for me.. oh yeah.. I might fixed it...

I am pretty sure you do not have to null all your locals - shouldn't they be destroyed automaticallyat the end of the foo?

Locals are destroyed when the function ends, which is actually the point of using them.
However, you still need to tell the game that you also don't need whatever they pointed to anymore...

...wich I do in a every language by destroying them, not by loosing all pointers to it...
With a garbage collector I could null all other variables that point to it, when I destroy the last pointer to it would be destroyed...

And if the vars are destroyed anyway, why null them then?

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
