How do you make a simple man, like a Villager (Male), be able to attack units?

Base your unit on another unit (like footman or if you want a hero... a hero!) and then change the model of him, you might have to change the attack sound to make it sound good.

combat - enable attacks (pick 1 2 or both)

Then give the unit an atack range (100 is melle) and base attack + attack dice and sides for the dice

then your set to go

Then put some values that make sense for the options in "Combat - Attack 1".
Get some inspiration from a Footman.
