Bad_pool_caller BSOD

so im trying to fix my friends computer, and i have never seen this before.
when the computer boots the os it goes to bluse screen of death
and the description is

BAD_POOL_CALLER

ive been reading around and figured its a hardware issue,
im betting its the motherboard,
i tried replacing the RAM cause i read somewhere it might be a RAM issue,
but that did not help.
it happened again.

i also cannot boot into safe mode,
my last choice is to try a factory reset, but i would only want to do that in the most extreme case. so i don't loose any saved data.

any help please?

its a desktop, ima check to see if its still under warranty.

this error msg is usually related to incorrect installed drivers for external hardware for example a printer
