I'm not sure how but I played a map online that did just what I'm trying to do. When you went into a mine the mini map changed and you could no longer see the other part of the map. Can you play a campaign online?

You can change the camera bounds, which "technically" changes the minimap.
I'm not sure if it changes the minimap to match the camera bounds, you can test, though.

But if you are using an epic sized map and zoom into a small area, the minimap will look like fail, unless you import a higher quality one.

And even if you do that, units won't show in the correct spot. ^.^

I think that setting the camera bounds makes the minimap show only the area the camera is bound to. This happens in every map I've seen that sets camera bounds, so I suspect that I am correct.

EDIT:
>You can change the camera bounds, which "technically" changes the minimap.
Didn't see this post. I think I'm right, then.

Theres the right answer.

You can make a region over the area that covers the underground area.

And then set camera bounds to that region, and the minimap will only show that region.

I already tried the camera bounds. it wont let u leave the area its set for but the mini map does not rescale to the area the camera is set for..That was the first thing I tried.:banghead:Any other ideas? I know that if you import a image in as wc3mapMap.tga it will change the map but it is displaying all the images i have right from the start so you see all your different mini maps overlapped. If we figure out how to only load one image at a time my problem would be solved..

But the units don't show up in the right spots, if I remember correctly.

I was trying to do this for a Hero Arena is was working on a while back. I wanted a round system, where players picked between 4 possible maps, and when a map was picked the massive minimap shrank down to 1 of the 4.

Problem was the minimap inaccurately represented where the people were. I seem to remember not being able to find a work-around/there not being a work-around, so I quit the map in frustration.
