Changing a hero

Is it possible to change a hero's proper name while you're in game to the name of the player controlling him?

I don't think so but you can change the actual player name by going to Player - Set Name.

they wouldn't be able to as the don't directly support WE. all they could do was make all heros have the players name whatever game they were playing, but then theres the problem of having 2 heroes owned by the same person

Well, you could turn Hero death messages off (it's an option on the unit),
and make your own trigger...

ya thats what I was about to say. Hide the death message, and use soemthing like the death message trigger from the DotA template.

Death message can be altered thru Game Interface...
