Cooldown not showing on an item

Yes, you can use the item, it has a cooldown, everythign is fine, but it doesnt show the cooldown shadow, what can it be?

If there's several abilities on the item, make sure yours is the first in the list.
If that wouldn't be it, try a "better" item, like Gloves of Spell Mastery.
If that still doesn't do it, give some more info, like what item and ability you used.
