Creating units for playing players in regions

So I have 12 "arenas" in my map with 2 spawn points in each end of the arena. When every round of the game starts I want every player that is playing to have their group of units created at one side of one of the 12 arenas, together with another player to duel so everyone has someone to fight, this assuming that the numbers of players that are playing are even.

I have no idea how to do this, so any push in the right direction would be very appriceated. Thanks! :thup:

This shouldn't be too hard. Firstly:
1) Do you want this in GUI or Jass? I only know GUI.
2) Do the players have to fight in a random arena? Could it just take the first arena, put two players in it, take the second arena ....and so on?
3) Are your "arena"s regions?
4) Are your spawn points regions?

2) Random, yes. That's kinda the whole point and it's what troubles me.

uhm, this sounds like a tournament. but for 12 players only use 6 arenas.
make two players groups and select fighters with random numbers example:

predefined map regions

//arena 1
arena_1a_region
arena_1b_region

//arena 2
arena_2a_region
arena_2b_region

//etc.. etc..

declare globals variables

player_1 as player
player_2 as player

north_side_players as playergroup
south_side_players as playergroup

next_phase_players_A as player group
next_phase_players_B as player group

select_fighter as player
arena_point as point


event
each round init

conditions
actions

for each integerA 1 to 6 do
if player[integerA] slot status = online then
add player[integerA] to north_side_players
else do nothing
end loop

for each integerA 7 to 12 do
if player[integerA] slot status = online then
add player[integerA] to south_side_players
else do nothing
end loop


//after setting players group order select fighters

set select_fighter = random player from north_side_players
set arena_point = center of Arena_1a_region (your A point respawn in arena )
create 1 fighter unit for select_fighter at center of arena_point facing you (very afraid)
remove select_fighter from north_side_players
call RemoveLocation(udg_arena_point)
call RemoveLocation(udg_you)

set select_fighter = random player from south_side_players
set arena_point = center of Arena_1b_region (your B point respawn in arena)
create 1 fighter unit for select_fighter at center of arena_point facing rival (laughing )
remove select_fighter from south_side_players
call RemoveLocation(udg_arena_point)
call RemoveLocation(udg_rival)

set select_fighter = null (uhm)

//loop this checking north_side_group and south_side_group are empty
call RemoveGroup(udg_north_side_group)
call RemoveGroup(udg_south_side_group)
winners players are adding to next_phase_players_group and repeat this trigger with next_phase variables to conform next rounds.

    Looks like Google fixed whatever mistake that made the recipes on the site go crazy and we are no longer trending towards a recipe site lol - I don't care though because it motivated me to spend alot of time on the site improving it and at least now the content people are looking at is not stupid and embarrassing like it was when I first got back into this like 5 years ago.

    Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.
