Custom IU?

Well I did a lot of searching around and I couldn't find anything on making a custom UI. I think I know what I'm suppose to do. I make one in different parts and then import it. Then go to advance gameplays contants and then find my imported files then use them. But the thing is I want to base my off of the human UI so I tried to edit it like I would skins but after I convert the .blp file to .tga. All I get is a completely empty image. I know it's possible because I seen custom ones.

So I was wondering. How would I make my UI? Do I need to just play around with it until I get it right because even the empty image has the size still there? Or is there a way to base it off of an already made UI in warcraft?

I remember not to long ago chovynz made a mini tut on it in someone elses thread, so I guess if you searched all the threads he posted in you might find it :)

anyways good luck finding it.

Ok. Thanks. I was actually searching through topics. Well he only has like 1,000 posts.I just need to eliminate them right and it shouldn't take too long.

Yeah. I think I will PM him. I looked through some of his posts and he said that he can't point to a tutoria because a custom UI comes from a person's imagination. But he can point to a templet. Which is what I need.

search Project Orbitos then if you look in there we made a custom UI (mind you theres 20ish pages to sift through)

Yeah I saw that one in the graphic section. And that's what wanted me to make one myself. So I've been searching here at TheHelper.net, Hiveworkshop,WC3campaigns.net(which recently came back up), Yahoo, and even google. So no one can't say that I didn't try to looking for it. You could say I didn't try hard enough because I didn't find it. I'll PM him tomorrow. But I'm not expecting a fast reponse. I respect whatever reason why he's not on a lot.

if you read his farewell message its because he has 3 kids and needs to get family time in, I think warcraft was interrupting his family time. . . so he cut it out.

also he comes on once a week or so. Mind you I PMed him a week ago and still no answer :nuts:

I would not want to do anything that would hurt his family. Well the good thing is after spending hours for like the past few months. I think waiting is not a problem. But I think I will go to him last. I seen some custom UIs at WC3campaigns.net and I think I will go there and ask. I just didn't see them because it's been down for awhile and just came back up yesterday.

    Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
