Demolish Ability

Ok, I have created 8 custom abilities based on Demolish. Each ability gives the towers I have given it to a 50% increase in damage.
I created a workaround (which adds the ability to each unit that needs it, when it needs it, and then waits 2 seconds, and removes it) that does what I want in my map. The problem I am having is that the map bogs down terribly after about 15-20 minutes of play, and having cleaned up all the memory leaks that I can find, the only conclusion I have is that is because of this ablility. I asked questions about this a while back, and created the workaround.

What I Ideally would like is...
Each tower starts with the ability
Ability is only used when 1 of 8 types of units is spawned. (can units with specific buffs/abilities be detected this way?) I tried this originally with mech, undead... etc but there aren't enough classifications to do what I want.
