Demonic footprints on a hero

I know it may sound funny and weird but is there any way to make a hero have illidan's footprints(u know the fire which stays behing illidan when he walks...)?In the game they are called demonic footprints(doodads).

Check the hero Illidan for what normal abilities he has. I think the thing that spawns those footprints is an ability...

Its not an ability, its part of the model.

You could try to add the footprints to the model you want but probably very hard. There are the way of triggers but that would be way too hard. It's not worth it.

Yeah but its really cool and cuz i try to associate items with effects a boots of speed with demonic footprints wouldnt be cool?

Yeah it would be cool but it's impossible to determine where a model's feet are.

It's pretty easy with a trigger.

every 2 second of game time

created1 burning footprint1 at position of unit
make last created doodad face unit

every 2 second of game time

create burning footprint2 at position of unit
make last created doodad face unit


the hard thing would be to destroy them, but it can be done with not too much effort.

BTW, you should make it so these trigger are run ater each other and not at the same time, so every 1 second either of of these is run.

That can really make sense but how do i destroy them?


Btw is there any attachment point like footprints or footsteps?

Only the evil Illidan actually leaves footprints so you can't determine where other models' stepped. Those triggers will leave a footprint even when the unit is not moving which looks stupid. Also they don't necessarily leave the footprints when the unit steps on ground. To do this you need to specify the same walk/run speed for all units and test how long the interval should be for steps. And then you'd need also checking if the unit is moving or not. It really gets complicated if you want it to look good.

    Looks like Google fixed whatever mistake that made the recipes on the site go crazy and we are no longer trending towards a recipe site lol - I don't care though because it motivated me to spend alot of time on the site improving it and at least now the content people are looking at is not stupid and embarrassing like it was when I first got back into this like 5 years ago.

    Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.
