Is there any way to completely disable an ability (so it can not be used, cooldown indefinatly), until you kill a hero.

Like you use a skill, and it won't recharge until a hero is slain.

You could do something like, when the ability is cast, replace it with a passive version of the ability that does nothing. Then when the hero is killed, replace the passive ability with the real one again.

Just give the ability an extremely long cooldown, and make a trigger that saves the level of the ability, removes, adds, and resets the level of the ability upon death. (Removing and adding an ability resets that ability's cooldown.)

Just thought I'd mention another option: (ab)using the Techtree requirement for a unit. Then, the ability works when your player is in control of that unit.

In this example, the unit is named "A nearby hero slain":

When you want to allow the player to use this ability, create this required unit for him in some secret place as locusted (so, similar to being a dummy). Then remove it when you want it disabled again.

Similar to Weep's option, what's good about this is that it keeps the actual ability cooldown (if you want one), as well.
