The Forsaken Melee League is starting up a map making competition so get your World Editor ready and start making a map! The winner of the competition will have his/her map used in FML Matches and events!
You are eligiable to create a melee map specifically for:
Solo FFA events
2v2v2v2 Events
Battlefield Events (12 player FFA map).
What we will be looking for in the maps:
Positioning: Do some players have an advantage at their starting spot over others? Is one spot closer to gold mines or creeps than others? Is there more gold or wood near a certain players position?
Balance: Does your map favor a certain race? Is there a good balance between green creeps and orange creeps? Is there enough lumber for orc/undead? Is there enough room for night elf?
Level Design: Is the map well made? Is the idea of the map original and initiative? Is it fun to play on?
Terraining: Do you make good use of your tileset with doodads? Is your map flat or does it have texture? Did you use your terrain palette well?
Creeps: Do the creeps drop items according to their creep level? (ie: no green creeps dropping infernal stones). Are the creeps in a spot that wont attack your units when you walk by the camp? Do the creeps match the tileset?
Rules:
1) Map must be started from scratch!
2) Map must be of YOUR OWN creation, if the map is found to be taken from anouther source your automatically disqualified.
3) Map must be a melee map, no triggers!
4) Have fun!
