did you copy Hardened skin? don't add Defend again... the hero already has defend, which slows the unit itself, and then don't add another defend ability which blocks 35% damage...

do this
make a copy of Hardened skin ability
rename it to RealDefend or whatever you like
the original Defend ability, make it so that the unit walks slow, thats it
trigger it so that when a unit starts the effect of Defend, it gives them RealDefend (hardened skin) and when a unit stops Defend, it removes RealDefend from that unit...

Defend position=hardened skin;
the spell's name were defensive position.

It is, it just seem it technically doesn't have an "effect", so that event won't work for it. Try other events, like "begins casting an ability".

Tried all kinds of events that have "ability" in the name , havent worked again.

edit:looks like the only way to do it is by changing piercing attack gameplay constants and game interface, changed piercing damage icon,damage reductors etc... and looks like it worked.
edit2: problem solved.By myself...

You cab use the data damage taken (%)
Deflected damge from pierce/spells are for ranged.

Use unit is issued an order with no target

order equal to defend
order equal to undefend

Ya, he is right, Defend isn't considered an ability. You could do something complicated like
Event:
Unit starts effect of an ability
Condition:
Ability being used is (Defend)
Action:
Set movement speed of unit to 0
Remove ability(defend) from triggering unit
Add ability(Undefend) to triggering unit
Add ability(Block) to triggering unit
Play defend animation

You could do something like that, Block should be modified after hardened skin, but it wouldnt block spell damage. And defend and undefend should be something like roar, but does nothing. You also need triggers for undefend to remove block,undefend, add defend and change movement speed to default. I'm not sure if this would be a problem if the unit is killed off and revived again.
