Gameplay constants via triggers

This isn't really important for my current project, but I was wondering;
Is there a way to change Gameplay Constants via triggers, be it GUI or JASS?

Gameplay - Defend can Deflect - False
would become via a trigger
Gameplay - Defend can Deflect - True

So you basically want the spell "Defend" to also deflect the damage he recieves back to the attacker ?

In this case, just set it to true and use different levels for Defend. Set deflect chance to 100 in some and 0 in others and adjust the ability level between the two.

Yeah I know I can trigger that (or in the case of defend do it within the ability itself), but I was basically just wondering if triggering Gameplay Constants was possible.
