Giving another person map to work on

How is it that I can do this? Because me and my friend both want to work on a map together, but how can we make it so that we can both focus on two different things at a time. Say for instance I'll make the units while he lays out the terrain, and when he gets done, sends me the terrain and I put the units, triggers, and what not on there. How can we go about doing this? I'm not quite sure...

Well, he can make the terrain on a blank map while you make the triggers / units on a blank map, then he can send you the terrain map and you can export the unit data ([File > Export] in the Object Editor) and import it into the terrained map, and do the same for triggers.

Have it so that there is only 1 file, thats what i do. (so there are not liek two different versions, one with all teh triggers done, one with units an terrain etc...) YOu work on a bit save it. Send it to your friend. While he is working on it, dont touchh your copy. When he sends it back replace your old version with it.

Thats just what i do, to prevent confusion.

i guess the terrain map will stay the same adding units and stuff in is not that hard once you got it all done :D
otherwise u could ask people in the members project becoz many of them share map to make

I guess my biggest thing is the units. Could we just make a unit on a blank map, then add that unit the big map?

So, wait. Importing seems to have erased the units he made for himself. How do I make it so it dosen't do that?

What changed? Its model(custom)? data? ability? or what?
Or maybe its Custom ability didnt work well? Maybe u forgot to import trigger?
Or its model(custom)? Have u import that custom model?

Whoa. Lots of questions. Answer, I exported all Customs from Map 1, and attempted to put them with Map 2, which had a few Customs of it own, and I don't want to overwrite Map 2's already there Customs, just add. And it dosne't allow me to do that. Only allows me to overwrite or nothing.

Well, I thought he was just doing the terrain. Are his units absolutely needed? Are there a lot?

Otherwise, you'll just have to copy his or yours (whichever is less) and paste them onto the other map, then import the combine unit file.

There always has been. Select the unit and press Control and C, then go to the other map and do Control and P.
You can only do one at a time, so it's inconvenient.

Well, think of it this way: now you know more about switching around unit data. ;)
