So I have a WD external harddrive I use to back up my data, but I forgot the password to it. The only options western digital give me are to remember the password or format the hdd and make a new password. Basically those two options are out.
Is there any way I could just brute force my hard drive? I have a general idea of what the password is but it is taking me forever to manually enter my guesses. I'm close enough, however, that I'm pretty sure a brute force would get me through in relatively short order. Does anyone have any ideas what program I should use to get me back into my drive?
