change the ip to 100

I do not think that an IP of 100 will do much good...

I think the IP is fine as it is as 192.168.1.1. That should be your local IP adress.

In the 2nd image it says external and internal port number, change them both from 101 to 6112 TCP.

Then add another of the same thing but this time change the TCP to UDP

Also make sure your firewall is off.

did what mercchris said, and no im not using windows xp security center.

I have spybot S&D as well as AVG AV but I don't think either have a firewall.

Windows firewall is still off.

Still doesn't work...

I have a switch in my room, but i'm not using it. (connected or not, it doesnt work)

Would it be safe to use or should I just leave it unplugged for now?

Thanks for the help,

you don't need to close your firewall.. that is scary.....

just control panel->windows firewall->exceptions tab->add port button.

name: 6112 udp
port number: 6112

mark udp then ok

then create another

name 6112 tcp
port number:6112

mark up tcp then ok.

192.168.1.1 is my default gateway.. just rechecked.

And demotry that will not fix it. Adding exceptions will come later when I know it works without the firewall.

Ok no go to, start>run>type cmd>then type ipconfig. Thats for Windows XP

It should say like IP Address...............:192.168.x.xxx etc.

Use that, not the Default Gateway one

its .104 (192.168.1.104)

But I thought it was default gateway you wanted (router adress)

Ima try 104 soon and let you know

You have to make sure that you have a static IP adress.

Choose your router here, and then follow the directions. It should get you able to host.

Ok, well then I guess your router doesn't require it.
Since you never specified what router you had, I assumed that it acted as a firewall, like routers normally do, and gave what instructions I thought were right.

According to my first screenshot in my first post I have an Airlink 101 300N Wireless N Router.

Sorry if I came off as rude in my previous post. I'd rather have someone suggest something wrong than get no ideas.

But it works now so no need to worry :)

Check out this.

Check if it's like you router, because I couldn't find the 300N, so I chose the closest one to it.
