i keep getting pop-ups

i have my pop-up blocker on, but i still get pop-ups
and this has never happened before till last night
and its always the same pop-ups like, okay theyre not all the same
but when you look at the tab they take up on the menu bar it always says "CiD: name of the ad"
and idk wth it is i keep getting those kind of pop-ups and some new ones know

ok the scan found nothing =/
i was looking in windows task manager under processes
and i found "iexplore.exe." 3 times and idk like what that means, i only have one internet eplorer runing, so could the other 2 be something else?
one of them which i think its the normal one, under "mem usage" has a higher number like 12,000 K, the other 2 have smaller numbers like 400 K
so could that mean anything?

I quite like this antivirus program. It found something that I didn't even know I had. It also checks registrys.

Try spyware doctor and ad-aware. It more likely to be a spyware than a virus.

use spybot search and destroy. That usually find everything.

i tried hitmanpro, i thought it worked, cause nothing happened for atleast an hour and a half, but its back lol

On my vista, I had a virus where popups kept coming up and I ran this and I never saw another popup.

what pop up you get? it is more easy to Search and find something to destroy it with, Maybe you can see some name on the pop up, or even take a SS of it.

not quite sure what the problem could be, did you install a toolbar?? zango is nasty IE, id also advise that you get a host file to stop a good majority of those malicious sites.
try running msconfig via
run > msconfig
possibly you can halt the process of the popups, with this go to the tab that says startup, disable anything you think is bad, or you didnt install..
click the tab for services and hideall microsoft services maybe you might find those bad progs and stop them when your system starts up.

*the best virus software i've found was avast which is free! it does the job hands down saved my ass many times!
also go into taskman if things get really bad and you need to shut these popups down, you can hunt the progs down yourself if they are starting up stopping them but its better in most cases you will need them to be cleaned by software like avast. good luck

Sry could not post my own comp is death :-(.. well I see you said CID the name of the ad, I missed it ..

If you have it still so I find this to remove the CID .But I am not real sure if be working but for one it did.

i think im just gona reformat this computer, i found this one forum showing you how to remove the cid ads, and lik theres so many programs you have to install, and its so long lol
