How do u have it so that u can move your guy using your arrow keys. if u can help me can u also tell me how to do it with multiple units and players?


Help would be good.

Or you could search the free trigger thread at the top of forums for keyboard movement and find a perfect keyboard movement example (its really nice)

Yeah i found out the sheep one but it makes no sense to me i need a lil help. and the free triggers map about the key movement i understood but i just dont know how to do it for multiple units/players. :(

iu make a bunch of regions

and triggers like this

keyboard event - player types left arrow

order unit to move to the farleft region

when a unit enters a region - order unit to stop

same goes for right ^

make regions smaller for better gameplzy



essentially thats it

wow scorpions, that would take a TON of triggers! and there are much better ways, just look through the free trigger code thread, you should find one you like.

Just look at the map i attached, it only uses like 10 triggers, and some of them for for fun like pressing esc...

umm not nessisarily - actually only 3 triggers


one to go left - the left button makes him go to the far left ont
one to fo right - the right button makes him go to the far right one
and to stop - when a generic unit enters a generic region - order unit to stop
SIMPLE

make teh regions small tho

uh, you mean one makes him go to one region, one makes him go to another region, and another makes him stop whenever he join any region? (which is not an event, BTW) sounds pretty, uhh, newbish to me.

just use this....

Example 2
    Events
        Player - Player 1 (Red) Presses the Left Arrow key
    Conditions
    Actions
        Unit Group - Pick every unit in (Units currently selected by Player 1 (Red)) and do (Actions)
            Loop - Actions

and edit the thing to make the picked unit move instead of the one unit...tell me if you still need help, i will make some more triggers for you...

hey, thats a good idea, to make everything you have selected move, you could move whole armies that way! mind if I steal this idea for my map?

@$c0rp10n: wow dude, u need to chill out b4 u get in trouble big time, all of the mods are gonna -rep you for that post. And you might want to use entering unit not triggering unit... oh and honeslty coping the triggers from the map up there that i attached is so much easier than making new ones. But u will need to edit the ones in the map for multiplayer, i suggest u edit it by using if/then/else for the triggering player and making the triggering player a var for the sep trigs that move your unit, and you use the

OK, I edited the flames out of scorpion's post, and I deleted all the responses to it. Now back on topic, but after one piece of advice: Don't feed the troll.

lite kid chill out ppl can just get the triggers from the map i attached (which i found in the free trigger thread) they can copy and paste those triggers
(Easiest thing to do)
