Lifestealing Ability? Help please!

Sorry if this is a noob question, but, how do i make a lifestealing ability? For example, an aura. Help appreciated :)

Edit: This whole stuff works if you want the aura to passively steal life (not during attack) of enemy units around caster and give it to the caster.

You need an unit variable. Let's call it DD_STEALER. And a real variable. Let's call it DD_LIFE. And then, here are the triggers you need (warning, it will work only for a single unit/map. I can edit it to work for a single unit/player).

TRIGGER 1
Event - A Hero Learns an Ability
Conditions - (Learnt Ability) equal to YOUR_AURA
Actions - set DD_STEALER = (Triggering Unit)
- turn on trigger 2

TRIGGER 2
Event - Every x seconds of the game //change x with the stealing frequency
Actions - Pick up every unit within y range of DD_STEALER matching conditions ((Matching Unit) is an enemy of DD_STEALER) AND ((Matching Unit) is dead) equal to false) AND ((Matching Unit) is Mechanical equal to false) and do actions //change y with the area of the aura
- set DD_LIFE = Min((Life of (Picked Unit)), (Life of (Picked Unit))-damage) //change damage with the amount of life stealing
- Set (Life of DD_STEALER) to (Life of DD_STEALER)+DD_LIFE
- Order DD_STEALER to Damage (Picked Unit) for "damage" using attack type Spells and damage type Fire. //change damage amount so that it matches the one above

That's kinda it!

Umm... if you mean to drain life from the units, this trigger takes care. If you want an aura which reduces regeneration rate from enemy units, polarize Unholy Aura. Make it target enemy units (maximum choices are to be enemy,air,ground) and set renegeration rate bonus to a negative value you want.

No what i mean is, for a hero to have a constant negative health regeneration, and i want it to be passive, though i dont know how. Help appreciated, sorry about the noob questions.

Noob Alert! Noob needs help.

Ok im really new to world editor, sorry if this is rly noobish but how can I make Unholy Aura give negative regeneration to the user? I've set it to only effect on self, but it wont lemme make it give negative regeneration! Help would be much appreciate.

Don't start another thread! Post in the previous one!

Hold shift and double click on the regeneration rate bonus field. Then you can give negative regeneration rate.

OR

File>Preferences>General Tab>Allow Negative Values, and that's it. You can either write a minus before your number or lower it beneath 0 with the arrows.

Yepp, Or go to File>Preferences>General tab>And check Allow negative values, then you can write the negative value too.

Doesn't work for all fields, I'm 100% certain about it. If I remember correctly, the sight bonus item ability for example doesn't work this way. Try it! :)

It works! :D Now another question... Sorry about asking all these questions n taking up your time..... But how can I make skills use life instead of mana? I try to make triggers for it, but it doesn't work ):. Anyways thanks again and thanks in advance :D

This is much more complicated. Everytime the unit "begins casting an ability", store its current mana into a variable, wait 0.27 seconds (pretty risky), and then the difference between the mana stored and current mana is the mana cost of the spell. Restore that much mana, and decrease that much life. However, if unit has for example 200 life and 20 mana, and the spell costs 50, you can't cast it because the game checks the mana. Sorry, there's no way to avoid this problem, unless you trigger the mana loss too.

Oh damn. I think ill just give him like an infinite ammount of mana then lol. Anyways at least i don't need JASS or something like that... Man takes a couple days to make a single hero :O

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models.     Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
