Lightning shield help please :)

hi can any1 help me with a simple spell im trying to make. im trying to make a spell just like lightning shield except that when u click the spell it automatically goes straight on the caster (no target selecting) and i want the spell to only hit the enemies and not friendly units. thnx in advance

ps: really nub at triggering but i understand the basics.

Create a dummy spell, a spell that does nothing and has no target requirement. (Berserk with 0.01 seconds duration, for instance.)

Create a dummy unit, a unit that has the locust ability and no model file, shadow or attack.

Create a Lightning Shield ability and check "Enemy" in the target requirements.

In a trigger, detect the event of your dummy ability being cast. Create a dummy unit for the caster and add the lightning shield ability to the dummy unit. Then issue an order for the last created unit to cast the lightning shield on the casting unit, and then remove the dummy.

ok thanks im working on it now, and i have one question:

when u say: check "enemy" in the target requirments, do u mean: stats - targets allowed?

Yes. If a spell has neither "enemy" or "friend" in the target allowances, it can target both.

k thanks, also with the tigger how to i make the dummy cast the spell, i dont see anything like issue order for ability or anything :S and issue order targeting a unit doesnt let me pick my ability.

Ok you gotta choose the spell its based off. So since its lightning shield, look for the base spell in issue order - target unit (or whatever it is) i think its probably orc shaman or something that casts it. Since they have the same base spell order ID it should work.

It is not allowed to target only enemies on Lightning shield, because if you set the target of it to enemies only, casting the dummy lightning shield will not be cast on the caster. And the cast point of your dummy has a value.

Here's the spell. There is no way to damage only enemy on lightning shield if you will target your allies.
