1) The first is the center. Second is the radius = offset from the center. Third is the angle (0 degrees all the way up till 360 degrees or -180 degrees to 180 degrees).

3) Global variables make MUI much tougher to implement, but no, it doesn't automatically "break" your MUI.

4) I'm not sure how aphotic shield was coded, but it most probably used a Damage Detection System to detect incoming damage and then store it in a variable while healing the wearer of aphotic shield to counterract the damage.

5) Yes.

7) If you're talking about swapping one ability for the other, then you can easily trigger it by detecting when he uses metamorphosis (becomes ranged), remove manaburn, give him feedback. Likewise, when the time runs out, you can remove feedback and give him manaburn.
