Looking to make some abilities for people?

Making abilities for people - Currently Free

I'm sort of bored and I want to challenge my skills using the world editor. If you'd like me to make you an ability for you, please post away. I will only do one ability at a time, and you should know the following things...

- I use GUI, therefore i'd rather avoid anything with 'pushing'.
- Please specifiy if the ability needs to MUI (usable by multiple units at the same time). (IE. Is there only going to be one hero using it?)
- Above all, i'd rather avoid recreating anything from DotA. Concepts can be similar, but I don't want requests to make actual things from DotA or other AoS's. I appreciate originality.
- I might deny making something if for some reason I believe I am incapable (after trying, of course), but I will attempt anything with the previous criteria intact.
- After creating an ability, I will actively edit the ability for bugs found, if you report bugs to me, I'll do something about them.

And not to seem a little too picky or anything, but just a few obvious things.
- If the ability is used in any games that go to public, I would appreciate my name (Meowier, at US. East) credited somewhere.
- Reputation?
- I have a life outside of my leisure time on the computer, so do not expect me to make the ability instantly. If I do, then yay. If not, please be patient.
- If you'd like to get in contact with me outside of thehelper, please send me a PM.

I would rather be given specific abilities to create, whether or not they go towards that particular map, I don't really care.

I also don't want to be dividing my attention to anywhere except personal messages, other instant messaging outlets, or this topic. Simply because I could get wrapped around doing too much.

But thank you for offering that.

Actually if you're really bored I have a really simple spell that I need. I'm creating a hunter type class similar to the hunter in World of Warcraft. I need a freezing trap spell.

But..I need it to look similar to the one in the game. I was thinking a Goblin Landmine with a very small crystal above it.

Anyways if you're unfamiliar with the spell. Just if someone walks over it other than giving damage to the target, freezes the target in a block of ice.

Again I know its pretty simple but I have a lot I'm doing on my map and with other things in my life, it would just make it one less thing I have to create. And I will give credit in my map. ^_^


Here is a picture of the freezing trap from World of Warcraft, obiously you cant make it exactly the same without creating a model. Which I don't want rather have just models from the existing game. :)

There we go, I had some fun creating that ability. I've been wanting to learn more about 'Takes damage' type events, but haven't had much of an excuse to do so.

If you type -c in game, a wolf will spawn, and if you die, you'll be ressed automatically.


I tried to create it as closely as possible to the WoW one, if you have any problems with the ability, please send a personal message.


I'm now available to create another ability for another person, post away your ability needs. ^^

well I have a small bug report...

the tool tip says:
Frozen units who take any damage will be unfrozen.

this unfortunately does not work correctly..
(at least not for me)

i dint read that when you type -c you get a wolf spawned.. so i added some peasants controlled bye player 2 blue, the wolf gets unfrozen but the peasants somehow do not get unfrozen..

I do believe I explained in the 'information' that the 'damage dealt' would only apply to units spawned in game. I posted an explanation of how to fix that. (IE. A map initialization trigger adding to the event with the selected preplaced units)

Thank you for making the effort to report this.

    Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
