Map I made not showing in game...

Hi there,

So I just finished making my first map, and am having trouble actually playing it from inside the game itself. I put it in this directory:

C:/ProgramFiles/Warcraft III/Maps

I've tried leaving it just there, and I've also tried in the downloads folder. I even tried a brand new folder that I made. The game recognizes the new folder just not the map inside of it.

Any help would be appreciated.

:)

Test it from World Editor, then try to open it through the Folder "Tests". It should be there.

@Komagtion Yes I've imported stuff
@pride2518 I shall try that
@esb Yeah it showed up there, thanks.

I'll try removing the imported stuff and custom scripts and see how I go.

There must be wrong you're doing then, if it shows under the "Test" folder. Are you sure it's the correct directory where Warcraft III is installed?

How about this.. Shorten the map name to below 10 characters or so.. try a 1 letter map name and tell me if it works or not..

WC3 is stupid that way and won't recognize a map if the name is too long.

Wasn't it also that when a map has return bug present it doesn't show too?

Just Remember Next time, the folder name and the games name is different.

If your named ur files "Custom Maps", and didn't changed anything in the files, in wc3 it will shown as "Just Another Warcraft 3 Maps".

Unless you changed the description map name to "Custom Maps", then it will be shown as Custom Maps in wc3.

Vice versa. If you changed the ingame name to "Custom Maps" but didn't rename the game files, *untitled*, you will see it as "Custom Maps" in Wc3 and Untitled in your pc/folder.

Thanks for the tip, I realised that after I fixed it not showing up in the game at all, but thanks for the advice nonetheless :)
