I have made my own custom model using the modeling program Gmax and used that to add a skin, and used Gimp to turn alpha ports or whatever on. I converted the model to Mdx and also know where to edit the model textures. What I don't know is what to type in for the texture path for the skin.:( Ive looked for a while around the forums for this problem and didn't find anything that helped.

I think where my problem lies is this line of code:
Code:
// 'DeX Version: 0.185m
// 1000 lbs.
Version {
	FormatVersion 800,
}
Model "Weight" {
	NumGeosets 4,
	NumBones 1,
	BlendTime 150,
	MinimumExtent { -35.0, -35.0, 0.0 },
	MaximumExtent { 35.0, 35.0, 60.0 },
	BoundsRadius 77.7817,
}
Textures 1 {
	Bitmap {
		[B][U][I]Image "",[/I][/U][/B]
		ReplaceableId 1,
	}
}
This is the line that creates a message everytime a put a path in saying it wont work.

I'm frusterated.:banghead: I will attach my model, it is a cartoonish 1000 ton weight that squishes stuff, simple and no animations. Will also attach skin. Please help and will rep up for answer! Thank you.

I'm certainly not the best modeler, in fact I never created a model specifically for Warcraft III.
So I'm just gonna state the obvious what could be wrong with what your trying to do.
A bitmap (*.bmp) is not the same as a ( *.blp )

Perhaps the program you're using can't handle / read .blp files, and it errors on that.
However, you didn't really say what the exact error message was so..

Maybe this program will do it for you.
Who knows, perhaps I helped or helped you in the right direction, perhaps I didn't.

I think u can import ur .mdx and ur .blp to war3 model editor and then you can apply them, why im saying this is because i think they have a z, x, y axis movment on teh editor where you could move your skin around... save the file there and import it to your map... Correct me if im wrong but id try that.

im not 100% sure but try putting in any path between the two "s in the Image thing and then import the model and the blp file and change the path of the blp file to the path that you put down.
e.g. Image "Textures\weight.blp"
now import and set the custom path of the blp file to
Textures\weight.blp
hope it works

I think your barking up the wrong forums for your answer.
I'd suggest going to Hive Workshop or wc3campaigns.

This forum is more for the world editor itself, and not about wc3 modeling.
