Need help making an ability that does nothing

I want to make a trigger where when a button is pressed, it triggers another trigger by replacing the unit that uses the button. But the button doesn't even show up if i make a button with no effects. I would like to know how to create an ability that does nothing, thus creating a button on my unit which does nothing. Any ideas on how to? thanks

I did something like this recently. You need to create an ability and give it an effect, but make the effect do nothing. The effect you give the ability will determine how the ability is cast (i.e. whether it should target a point, unit or nothing). In your case, the effect type should just be instant.
