Need some help with this trigger

Hi all, I've run into some pretty basic trouble with these triggers I'm trying to make for my TD. I'm trying to make it so that when red's hero picks up the "level 1" item in front of him, level 1 starts. I thought I got this right, but apparently not because it's not working.

        Unit - Leveler 0003 <gen> Acquires an item
    Conditions
        ((Owner of (Item carried by Leveler 0003 <gen> in slot 1)) controller) Equal to (Player 1 (Red) controller)
