I have a client who can't play old games because they crash, and I need to know why new games run fine but old ones crash.

The problem is that he had to downgrade to a 300w power supply from a 480w.

his system specs are:
Operating System: Windows XP (Version 2002, Service Pack 1)
Computer Make: CyberPower PC ()
Processor: 1997 MHz AMD Athlon XP 2400+
Memory: 1024 MB Screen Resolution: 1280 by 1024
Web Browser: Internet Explorer 6
Other Information:
ASUS A7N8X-X nForce 2 Motherboard
Norton Antivirus 2004
nVidia GeForce 4 Ti4800 SE
SoundBlaster Audigy 2
300w Power Supply Unit

As you can see, 300w obviously isn't going to cut it.

The games that work: FarCry, Ground Control 2, Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, and The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind.

The games that run, but eventually crash: NeverWinter Nights, Medieval: Totalwar, Black and White, Rise of Nations, Command and Conquer Red Alert 2, Praetorians, SimCity 4, and Hegemonia.

Thanks in advanced,

if he is using window xp then it should work but some old games won't work at all because they are just made for windows 98 because before window xp came out windows 98 was best for games so if the old games don't work then tell him or her to using windows 98 that will work

also did you try to go to the game company website sine sometime they have upgrade that let you play old games in windows xp
