Hey folks,

I'm as the title refers new to mapcreations, and I'm only learning by doing so to speak. So far thought it's going pretty good, I've managed to start off my very own ORPG-map. If I'm ever gonna finish it or not is another question, but I will try.

Well my first (out of many) question is:

I've created a Farm, to be the local pub at the startingscreen for everyone in the game. The idea is that everyone should pick their own hero that they want to play in that house. I've then customcreated some hero, made the hero cost 1 Food. My problem now is that when I removed the "Melee Game - Starting resources" trigger, I'm not getting anything. I want every player to start off with 1 Food each, and 100 gold. How do I add that trigger or is it some other way?

Thank you in advance,

/BruteBrutal

It should be under Player - Raise food cap or something like that. Ain't got WE close.

There is also Player - Property as far as Gold is concerned.

Yes, removing the Melee Game stuff is essential. :)

Remove all the premade Melee Game triggers? I havnt really understood what "Melee Game" means yet? Is it some premade AI/triggers/heros package or what?

thanks for the fast answer by the way

It's what normally happens in any regular game of Warcraft 3. It creates a starting town and 4 workers, sets your resources to the appropiate amounts, ensures that the victory and defeat depend on your buildings and not whatever else, etc.

Yes, you must delete them.

next questions:

I want to make the spell damage not hurting me and my allies... how do I do that?

and, how do I remove Set Rally point on my buildings? (or making it a predecided location, that the players then can't change manually)

You can order a building to change its rally-point, but that will eventually enable a player to change it back. Or you can remove the rally-point ability, but that will actually (and logically) prevent the whole ability from working. Thus, it's hard to set it permanently.

I don't have WC3 installed, but one would need to test if you could maybe set a rally point at one place you intend to be permanent, and then disable the ability "rally" and look if it stays there (disable, not remove).

> I want to make the spell damage not hurting me and my allies... how do I do that?

Well, if you made your spell in the object editor and it is an AoE spell, you can just change the targets allowed at the bottom. I think it's in "Stats - Targets Allowed" not sure though. Include "Enemy" and it should prevent both you and your allies to be hurt.

Hmmm got most of it done, can't find the remove "set rally" option on the building (pardon my nooobism) and how I trigger commands like a custommade AI for ALL players instead of only for Player 1 (red). Do I have to add the triggers for all players exclusivly?

Try looking under Player - Disable ability and find the ability "rally". It should be there, IIRC.

Have you made an AI already for player 1?

Also, please wait 24 hours before bumping your thread.
