Preview Image

I just wanted to ask, how it works to change the preview image, which is shown if the game hadn't started yet.

If you truly mean the preview image, you must import a TGA file through the path war3mapPreview.tga . If you mean the loading screen, check this out.

The search function is veeeery useful.

yes i mean the preview image... but what size and how to import?

create a 128x128 img

Then go into the editor, and hit F12. Import the file, and double click it on the list of imported files. Check the 'Use custom path' box, and change the path to war3mapPreview.tga.
