Slow Cooker French Onion Meatballs

This Slow Cooker French Onion Meatballs recipe makes a dinner with savory meatballs, caramelized onions, and rich gravy, sure to please.

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup red wine (optional)
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme for garnish
  • Large bowl
  • Mixing bowl for wet ingredients
  • Skillet
  • Slow Cooker or Crockpot
Directions:

Meatball Mixture:

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, French onion soup mix, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, and Parmesan cheese
  • Mix until well combined, then form the mixture into meatballs
Brown Meatballs:
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat
  • Add the meatballs and brown them on all sides, ensuring they are cooked evenly
  • Once browned, transfer the meatballs to the slow cooker
Caramelize Onions:
  • In the same skillet used for browning the meatballs, add the thinly sliced onions
  • Cook the onions over medium heat until they turn golden brown and caramelized, which typically takes around 10-15 minutes
  • Add the cooked onions to the slow cooker atop the meatballs
Prepare Gravy:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine beef broth, red wine (if using), and Worcestershire sauce and stir well to combine
  • Pour the mixture over the meatballs and onions in the slow cooker
Cooking:
  • Set the slow cooker to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together and the meatballs to become tender
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste during the cooking process
Garnish and Serve:
  • Just before serving, sprinkle the Slow Cooker French Onion Meatballs with fresh thyme
  • Serve hot
Enjoy!

Looks like Google fixed whatever mistake that made the recipes on the site go crazy and we are no longer trending towards a recipe site lol - I don't care though because it motivated me to spend alot of time on the site improving it and at least now the content people are looking at is not stupid and embarrassing like it was when I first got back into this like 5 years ago.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Plus - I have a pretty bad ass recipe collection now! That section of the site is 10 thousand times better than it was before

They also were digging threw old shit at the sheriff's office and I tried to get them to give me the old electronic stuff, but they said no. They can't give it to people because they might use it to impersonate a cop or break into their network or some shit? idk but it was a shame to see them take a whole bunch of radios and shit to get shredded and landfilled

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

I am not big on the recipes I am just promoting them - I use the site as a practice place promoting stuff

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences
