Reformatting and Reinstall

What is the recommended order I should reinstall all of my drivers and windows updates. All my computer has on it is windows XP. Nothing else.

Depends on your hardware sometimes.
From personal experiance (last week) I found its best to use the driver disk that came with your computer and do all the driver updates, then service packs, then hotfixes and security threats.

After all thats stuff is done, do applications.

Well, I biult the PC myself so uhh that rules out a drivers disk that game with it. Here are my basic pc stats

P4 2.4
SiS manufactered motherboard(dont remember the exact model number)
Radeon 9600 pro
Audigy 2
1 gig Samsung PC2700
80 gig Maxtor HD
some generic cd-rom drives

Anything else just ask

If you built the computer yourself thats all the more reason why you should have a driver disk.

Double check all your stuff to make sure.

Whenever you buy any of the following, they usually come with driver disks

Any PCI cards
Motherboards
Videocards / AGP
Any USB devices
Any Firewire Devices
Joysticks / gamepads / steering wheels

I'm sure theres many more, but those are the most common

Just a tip, don't try installing more than one thing at a time. Reboot after you install something rather than installing multiple things then rebooting, to reduce the risk of conflicts.

Well, I have seperate drivers disk for for all my Hardware if thats whats you mean. I just want a list of what to install 1st then 2nd ect...

1. DX 9 instal and DL.....?
2. Graphics drivers....?
3. Windows updates....?
4. and.....

I'd say do:

1) Windows Updates

2) Directx

3) Video Drivers

The ATI catalyst drivers recommend having WinXp SP1 and DirectX9
