I created a weapon (duplicated from the Hydralisk weapon) that causes Starcraft 2 to crash. If I kill any biological unit with it, there are no problems. But if I kill a unit that has no impact animation (for example, flying machine units like banshees, battlecruisers, and science vessels) the game crashes.
What I mean by impact animation is if I attack a marine with a hydralisk, blood comes out of the marine. If I attack a science vessel with the same hydralisk, no blood or any visual sign of an impact effect happens.
I really have no idea what I could have modified to make this weapon crash the game, unfortunately I can't help narrow down what I changed because I modified a ton of different aspects... but I don't see how this could cause the game to crash. I spent a very long time trying to get the weapon just the way I want, so I don't want to start from scratch... and even if I do I might duplicate this crash bug. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing the game to crash when I kill an enemy with no impact animation with it? (Attacking is fine, but killing the unit makes the game crash.)
