Hi all :)

Haven't been active in this forum for a while, but anyhow. I sitting here this the Starcraft 2 Galaxy Editor, and I wanna do the simple and smooth coding which was possible in the World Editor.
However I can't seem to find how to convert a trigger the same way as possible in the World Editor to pure code/script.
So the question is: "How do I code in this editor, similuar to the World Editor?".
I am aware that I can look on the entire trigger in one single page, allowing me to do this coding, however I need this structed in a similiar way which the World Editor had with folders and all.

I've probably missed some great issue regarding this, however I can't seem to find anything related with this on the web.

I know that the Galaxy Editor got much more options in the GUI mode then Warcraft 3 had, but it doesn't matter. I code at work, and would like to do the same here.

Thanks for all help!

EDIT: Okay, now I see that this issue have been presented in an other topic, Has Anyone Seen This? by Lyerae. I can't seem to understand why they would remove this?

I found this maybe its what u mean.. not sure...

Open up the Triggers section in Galaxy Editor..

Then right click anywhere on the left hand side in the tree view

go down to New, then you see

New Folder
New Comment
New Trigger
New Event Definition
New Condition Definition
New Action Definition
New Function
New Preset Type
New Record
New Variable

When you click on New Event, Condition, Action or Function, there is a field called, Custom Script Code, and when you click on it get a blank page in which to script freely. These are the same as the buttons on the top.

Maybe thats what u meant? not sure.. just trying to help.

It's not quite what I'm after, but it's close

Maybe I should settle down with coding as in Wc3 till Blizzard or someone outside makes it as easy as it was in Wc3.

Thanks anyways :)

Are you talking about like..

didnt SCM Draft for SC1 have a plugin.. which was a script editor? i think.. not sure..

Like World Editor.. i never got into that much.. so i have no knowledge of it.. i played the single player campaign of Wc3 for about 10 missions or so..I died in a lvl where gigantic trees wiped out my forces... i couldnt get past that lvl so i took a break from Wc3 and never got the urge to go back to it.
One of these days i'll play thru the Wc3 campaigns again tho... when i get bored of other games

We'll prolly have to wait for the fans to make script editors maybe

Yeah, but such an annoying solution, haha :)
Hope Blizz or someone fixes this.

The map you're referring to I believe you're supposed to "loose" at and just survive till Groom gets his hands on the evil moonwell.

I don't think there's a a way to write a trigger/library as pure code yet. Don't worry though, you're not the only one who is waiting on this.
WTB a way to convert the entire trigger to pure script and go from there.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
