ok, so i have windows vista at the moment and i have 4gbs,
i just got windows server 2003 enterprise edition from my school.
so i was thinking of switching to server 2003 since it supports more ram than what i am currently using. i have an extra 2gb stick i could stick in and use.
so what would be the cons from switching?
so far the only thing i can think of is no DirectX 10,

and if you must know all i do is pretty much game. l4d2, wow and such.

Depending on the hardware you use, you might have an interesting time finding drivers for certain things. Also bear in mind that certain windows utilities (such as home-edition Virus scanners) might not be directly compatible with Windows server versions.

Other than that, you'd probably be fine switching. Is this version of Server 2003 a 64-bit edition, or are you expecting to depend on PAE to address more than 4GB of RAM?

no its just 32bit edition, and i was going to depend on PAE to address more than 4GB.
i had the idea to try to set up a dualboot and test things from there.
i have most everything i use on a my 2nd HDD, and i may reinstall a few games and apps to see how they run.
