shooting at the sky?

hi im asking about if you could explain how to make a unit sayy an archer shoot its arrows literally almost striaght up like the archer unit in uther party where the archer is attacking straight up. because i would want to do this while im doing my channeling ultimate which would make it look really good

Well that's easy enough!

I believe all Archer models have the "Stand Victory" animation. Just change the casting animation of your channeling ability to Stand, then Victory and you're good to go!

no but it was literally just kepy "attacking" instead at the sky and was wondering if i could do that with any ranged units like my hero?

create a flying dummy unit at the location of the caster, preferably with a very high fly height. then order your caster to attack the dummy unit.

of course, if the ability is channeling, then that wont work, but i think there was a particular elven archer model with an animation where she shoots straight up. in this case, you trigger that animation to play on your unit, then you create an extra shooting dummy unit on the ground at the caster location, and make this dummy shoot the flying dummy while the caster is having the shooting animation played.

Totally out.
Playing an animation plays its animation per se.

Nothing else changes, only the animation.

Use a dummy unit as a replacement, then set the flying height through triggers.
Or if you want me to show you the code, please ask.

however your technique would it snchque(i know i spelt it wrong) with the actuall arrows?so it doesnt look like an arrow goes up when its the end of my animation and it's bow is pointed down :x also my unit model is sylvanas wind runner

woah didnt see above post if you could they yeyseyeyse please :D

No need at all for anything like that!

Open up your map then open up your Object editor and go to Abilities, choose your ability and at the very top where it says "Art - Animation Names" double click on that and then remove any current Strings, then add in your two Strings.

The first string would be "Stand" and your second string would be "Victory" (with out the "s of coarse)

*edit* All archer models have the Stand Victory animation by the way.

I don't know why you all want to do such pointless things when he clearly says its for a channeling ult spell.. like I said just change your Art - Casting Animations to Stand, Victory and you're done... no need for triggers.

if would it even work with my sylvanas wind runner?? and all i have to do is make a trigger when i use a spell (my ultimate) then play animation it would work and when my ultimate is done stop the animation :O?

Unfortunately this is done freehand to my best extent.

Trigger:

    • Conditions

      • ------- This increases the flying height every 0.01 second -------
      • Set FlyingHeightIncrease = 1.00
      • ------- This is the max flying height the arrow can reach -------
      • Set FlyingHeightMax = 1.00
      • If (All Conditions are True) then (Then Actions) else (Else Actions)
        • If - Conditions
          • (Current flying height of (Dummy Arrow)) More than or equal to FlyingHeightMax
        • Then - Actions
          • Animation - Set (Dummy Arrow) flying height to ((Current flying height of (Dummy Arrow)) + FlyingHeightIncrease ) at 0.00
        • Else - Actions
          • Unit - Remove (Dummy Arrow)
          • ------- Do custom actions here when arrow reaches top -------

What I explained to you is the easiest way in the world to do what you want... Let me take some screen shots because I really don't know how I can convey this any more simpler to you.

:O and sylvanass does have the stand victory but it doesnt actually shoot arrows..

Sylvanas Windrunner living does however.

Isn't it Stand Victory instead of Stand, Victory? It is one animation name and not 2 I think.

Also one image doesn't seem to work for me :S

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
