Hi guys !

As I said in the other thread, I haven't touched the WE for about 5-6 years, so, I'm pretty rusty...

So here's a few EASY questions I'd probably be able to find on tutorials or by searching on the forum, but I guess it won't take you long to answer, so, here we go !

1- How can u delete the glow under a hero ?

2- I'm making a hero in a form of a crow, but when I choose Medivh it comes in the human form. How can I switch to crow ?

3- hmm, thats it for now...

1: This is only possible, if you edit the model.

2: Slip in the String "Alternate" in the animation spot.

3: Guess I'm done? #2 may need some tweaking.

All you have to do is start up a model editor, open model found in the archive war3x I think, then remove the particle emitter for the glow.

Particle emiter ? I dont understand.

Are you referring at when Im skinning in PSD, or... ?

I think he's referring to the actual model, not the skin. To remove the glow I think you have to find a model editor and open up the models for Warcraft III and edit them there.

I thought I read somewhere that you could remove the glow with a function in JASS. I could've been wrong though.

Wow... not a simpler way anyone ?? ... it should be an option in the unit editor...

Or if someone has done it before, could you explain me ?

and also :

3- My hero has the crow form, but his face (the small screen where ppl talk) is still medivh's human form... how can I change that... Thx guys !

You can't I think, his transformation is to an alternate, not an actual model.

So its impossible to have a crow ? I cant beleive that ! would it work with DotT in crow form ??

The way they do it is probably having a custom model, made with the crow form only.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if you just want a hero with the model of a crow, just go to unit editor, create a new unit based of a hero, and edit the game model to what you want.

He's talking about Medivh's crow form, you get to this by throwing in the alternate string in their animation area, as far as I know he's talking about how to transmit from it while showing his crow form, and not his face.

Yeah cause now I have a hero the shape of a crow (its what I want) but his face in the little screen is still medivh's (its not what I want).

1.) I'm sure there's a section in Gameplay Constants or Gameplay Interface for hero glow. I think the path is Hero Glow.mdx

2.) What bout using Night-Elf Druid of the Talon Storm Crow?

Yeah it works with the DotT in storm crow, but the crow is not as cool (its purple instead of black) but I guess it'll do the job for now. Normally it would be very easy to skin it but I don't uderstand why I simply can't upload a new skin ! it says can't fin de skin for xxxxxx (whatever model)... I'm doing exactly whats written in the numerous tutorials, but it won't work !

For medivh, the fact is, we never see his "crow form little screen", its only used in cinematics. So I guess its why they didn't do his "crow form little screen"...

So, this problem is solved (altho i'd prefer to skin the crow cause purple sucks :p )

For the glow, could u be more specific on the gameplay constant/interface ? thx

Ok well, for the glow, I must edit the model, I've read some tutorials... but I failed to find a MPQ browser that works (or that I must not download VB4, etc etc...) so I just gave it up. I guess I'll keep the glow...

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
