Spellbook Help (with leveling up system)

Its better to give an example rather than explaining this whole thing. So just read below:

Spellbooks:
Paladin Spellbook Skills:
  • Level 1: Sacrifice, Prayer Aura
  • Level 2: Holy Bolt

Necromancer Spellbook Skills:
  • Level 1: Summon Skeleton, Skeletal Mastery
  • Level 2: Summon Golem

Sorceress Spellbook:
  • Level 1: Firebolt, Icebolt
  • Level 2: Frost Nova

Simulation Example

  1. So a hero starts with 1 free skillpoint to spend.
  2. The hero spends the skillpoint to Sorceress Spellbook
  3. The hero now has a set of abilities (Firebolt, Icebolt)
  4. The same hero now levels up, he spends it again on Sorceress Spellbook
  5. The sorceress spell book is now level 2
  6. The hero now has Firebolt, Icebolt and Frost Nova
  7. Alternatively the hero could've spent a skilllpoint on another spellbook.
  8. So if he spent it on Necromancer Spellbook Spells intead of Sorceress.
  9. He would have a lvl 1 Sorceress and Necromancer Spellbook
  10. That leaves him with (Summon Skeleton, Skeletal Mastery, Firebolt and Icebolt) all level 1 spellbook spells.
How do I do this system?

Use Upgrades.

Example.
Name an upgrade "Sorceress Spellbook - Level 1"
And give it subsequence level as much as you want to match with the spell book itself, and set name in each individual level to reflect the numbers of level u have.

Then for Firebolt, Icebolt, set requirment to "Sorceress Spellbook - Level 1"
Frost Nova set requirment to "Sorceress Spell Book - LEvel 1" But in the required integer put "2"

In that way, run a trigger which makes the player upgrade the "Sorceress Spell Book - Level 1" everytime u spent a skill point on the Spell Book.

FYI - This is almost the same for in NOTD - AM. Try downloading it and try the marine class "Medic". It contains a Spell book which has spells with requirment for u to level the hero skill itself to unlock.

When an ability cannot be used (without the upgrade requirement) then it won't show in the spellbook right?

-Edit- Im abit confuse with what you stated... If an ability has no upgrade requirement it would show, if it have a requirement and its not met, it would appeared disabled like being silenced.

It would show, but it cant be used. Like how Inner Fire looked like in standard games when you did not upgrade the Preist Upgrade.

If you want the skill to be hidden completely

use this

Code:
Player - Disable Ability for Player

That would hide the ability totally untill u enable the ability for the player.

I hate using upgrades to enable skills, mostly because upgrades fail if you do stuff like unlearn...or changing heros, getting different skills...etc...

-Cidzero : It applies for different maps, Single Hero games will work well. And its about how you structure properly. And it saves quite alot of time in doing some cetarin upgrade.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
