This Thread was lost in the Crash, So im re-posting it

i encourage everyone to post their Tips about Guilds Here.

Ill start off.

When starting a guild, Choose a good name

If you are below 60, Dont ask 60s to sign ur charter, its just a waste of time

Try to get ppl ur level

Dont ask the same person to sign ur charter over and over again. it just pisses them off.

Be nice to guildies, and be active as a GM

(No one likes a GM that never on)

Guild Websites- CAN be useful, but wait until ur guild as at least 30+ members

When going to dungeons try to include everyone whos able to go

Keep Everyone Informed as the current guild events

Dont spam invites, ask ppl first if they want to join

When putting out recuiting ads for your guild, try to make a sort to pitch that will make ppl want to join more

When running a Endgame guild, look for people with Talent!!!!!!

Thats all for now
Once again, i encourage everyone to post their guild tips here

Here's a few tips to add to this (Yes I know it's old, but anyway):

Only create a Guild if you know your going to stick to it and build it up. If this means progressing to 60 then you may have to do that.

"Uber Guilds" are NOT easy to make. The will cost you a lot of time, money and are very stressful at times from what i've heard. In a way, think of it as a part time job. Remeber one of these will have to have:
*A Website. This will cost you about $10-$15 for the Domain name, and then it's up to you to find a Host. You'll then have to set up some Forums and news.
*Ventrilo/Teamspeak. I know a decent one fo these can cost you around $100 per year. There are some cheaper but i'm just making a summary.
*DKP (if you use it). Your going to have to get some type of System to keep track of this, and will have to be upddated regularilry (after every raid to be precise, and sometimes some other times for Donations etc).

Being a good leader. As a leader your going to have to be Polite (to a degree) in even the most stressful times. Your also going to have to be considerate and take in other people's views.

Rules. These are important. If someone breaks em harshly, boot em. Remeber to stick to them and notify members if they change.

Organising Events. The most simple way to organise these is to use some sort of Event Mod. I recommend GroupCalender (downloadable from http://ui.worldofwar.net or www.curse-gaming.com) or GEM (Guild Events Manager, also downloadable from one of the above links). And remember, only organise an event if you know you can make it.

Well, there's some of my tips. I hope they help.

I could probably add something to this...

I am GM of one of the top guilds on my server (Dark Iron PvP). In about two months, we fought our way to the top, and now have MC and BWL on farm, and are working our way through AQ40/Naxx. All of our members are geared, we have a few legendary weapons in our guild, and we're going nowhere but up. But I couldn't do this alone...

The number one thing to remember is to be consistant. It's one thing to be a nice guy, but never flip flop on your own decisions. Stick with things and make people push themselves to their limit at every raid. Slackers? There's no need for them.

We started with just three level 60's all coming from another guild that had ALMOST downed ragnaros in MC. We asked random unguilded people everywhere in Ironforge and beyond, we brought good friends from other guilds, and we built from the bottom up, on a basis of class balance.

From there we fought our way through MC and BWL and in about a month and a half, we took down Nefarian. We are notorious for being the fastest progressing guild on the server. Of course we get alot of hate, as all big names do, but we have alot of respect as well. We are known for determination, which is what the leadership of any guild needs to instill into their members. Replace the people who are obviously not motivated with people who will always be there. Don't be afraid to remove people from the guild who aren't putting in the effort you need. I guess you can say we are somewhat elitist to people outside of our guild, but amoung eachother we can have fun and relax, while being competitive at the same time.

Then again, everything I'm saying could be wrong for some of you. My advice is just for those looking to establish a hardcore end-game raiding guild. If you're looking for something casual, this isn't for you.

Also, stay away from the DKP system... it's evil.

EDIT: I Just included a good mind-set, a good concept behind what you should do. The basics are mostly listed here. You need Ventrilo, a website, forums, too much time, and money to devote to it.

Are you Seph? If so, I find this hilarious xD
-Try not to spam guild chat by linking pointless loot that noone at the time cares for. Just because Seph does this 24/7, doesn't make it acceptable.

Ummm, I got a Question about Guilds in WoW, like is there a way to make more people come to your guild, even though there is like this SUPER guild that everyone wants to join??

That "Super" guild will eventually fill up and others will have to move elsewhere, that's where you can ninja people. But it's just takes time. If people see lots of 60s in your guild they're more willing to join, you'll get members, slowly, but surely.

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
