Hello all,
After a relatively long hiatus (school-related, for the most part), I'm back to mapping with a new project:
My Single Player Campaign
Now, I know that I haven't always been the best in terms of release dates, or even releases in general, but I'm definitely feeling that this project has a lot of potential. Yes, there will be puzzles, and a lot of them at that, but the gameplay will no longer be exclusively puzzle-oriented, as with my other single player maps. I am also trying to use proportionately fewer item-based puzzles than I have in the past, which should make the gameplay, on the whole, less monotonous. In short, an Action/Puzzle Adventure would be the best summation of the genre. Most importantly, perhaps, I finally have what I would consider to be a well construced plot, so that, if anything, should be the best indicator that I intend to continue with the project.
But before I bore you all with details, here's a quick preview of what's to come. Voice acting and music have yet to be implemented, but this is the best I could do at the moment. I probably won't have any more time to work on this until Winter Break, but for the meantime, I thought I'd release this while I had it:
Behold the cinematic introduction to the Hegemuffin's Single Player Campaign "Rowan".
Cheers,
The Hegemuffin
Oh, and I almost forgot: The Cinematic System I used can be credited to Anitarf and iNfraNe, with slight modifications by myself. The map itself is open source, so feel free to poke around, anyone who wants to. Just please no JASS bashing. Yes, I know there are a few point leaks, but I can live with being lazy as long as I can still count them on one hand.
And I suppose, while I'm at it:
What this thread is for (aside from shameless promotion of my campaign): From my point of view, it's simply a nice place to post requests, should I need any custom art models, skins, or icons that people might be interested in creating. For everyone else, I'd love to hear opinions, feedback, or any suggestions or ideas you might have for the campaign itself. Again, though, most of the plot has already been conceptualized, so try to stay away from that end of things. And please, if you have a good puzzle idea, PM me with it so that it isn't spoiled, should I choose to implement it.
And I think that's that. Toodles!
