Timer Help

I figured that this would make a timer, displaying how long left until such and such event, just for refernece, but every time I start up the map, nothing happens.

    Conditions
    Actions
        Countdown Timer - Create a timer window for AI_Hero_Timer with title Time until AI get a...
        Countdown Timer - Start AI_Hero_Timer as a One-shot timer that will expire in 20.00 seconds
        Wait 21.00 seconds
        Countdown Timer - Destroy (Last created timer window)

You cannot start a timer at map initialization. Start it at .05 or .1 seconds.

Or I could just figure it out right as you posted that... I set it to start at Game Time 0 seconds and what not. So yeah. Thanks though !

Destroying the Timer Window is not gonna stop the timer itself.

You need to pause that timer.

Why? It ends after 20 seconds. Why would I need to pause something that isn't running?

Actually it only destroys the little window, not the timer. You need to pause the timer(because of bugs) as well.

But, if the timer ENDS after 20 seconds, there is no point. I don't see a need to pause the timer if it's already stopped!

Your tutorial doesn't talk about his current problem.

To above posters: I don't know why he would a pause a timer that no longer runs. His timer expires after 20 seconds. Why pause it after 21 seconds? It no longer exists. Well yea it still exists and using the function DestroyTimer in JASS you can get rid of it, but it's not his goal and the timer no longer runs. You have to pause a timer before destroying it, but he's not destroying the timer, he's destroying the window, so pausing the timer is pointless.

EDIT: Damn. Don't know if you noticed jonadrian619 but the thread you bumped is 1 month-old. Anyways...
