The Trigeminal ganglion resides inferior to the zygomatic arch and anterior to the ear, at a depth of approximately 1.3 cm from the epitheleal surface. It enervates both the mandible and the maxilla as well as parts of the orbits and face. The chicken pox virus often lies dormant in this ganglion throughtout the life of a host. A close cousin to the Coxsackie virus, the Herpes virus also resides dormant in this ganglion. Due to stress or over exposure to UV, it can activate and appear either orally or genitally, manifesting predominantly on the mucosal tissue.

The upper right first molar is best extracted using a 99R forcep. However, the upper right third molar is best luxated with a T-bar elevator, since it extraction path is both distal and buccal. As it luxates buccal, its proximity to the Mandible often prevents full luxation.

4-0 Silk suture is best used for oral injury and surgery. The face is best sutured with 6-0 silk to reduce scarring.

Prior to surgery, the hands must be thoroughly cleansed with Hibiclens (Chlorhexidine Gluconate), using a brush in the ridged, folded and working areas.

The most difficult to correct and most enduring damage (voluntarily done by the host) to the body is done by smoking.

Amalgam, or Silver fillings, are actually a mixture/compound of silver, mercury, tin, copper, and other metals. When the mercury is mixed/triturated with the silver alloy, it combines with the tin (Sn) in particular to form a new alloy that, at first, is very pliable, but soon hardens into a rigid mass. When it tarnishes, bacterial invasion and destruction is inhibited.

Composite Resins (Bonded fillings), on the other hand, adhere to the tooth microscopically. However, on curing (hardening through catalytic processes), the material has a tendency to "pull" toward the light source or most cured (if self-cure) area. As a result, adhesion to some more distant areas can disconnect (not adhere). Too, when curing is done too quickly and through too much material volume, it can actually cause fracturing in the tooth structure to which it adheres.

When turning to Final Approach, the landing gear must be fully extended, and power is reduced just above stall speed. For short landings, flaps are fully extended. Intermittant crosswinds aswell as intermittant updrafts can be extremely hazardous during this time. If a crosswind exists, one must turn into it until just before landing.

A pilot must possess a valid IFR license for the aircraft model and class to fly in clouds.

Thought it would be a nice break from WC3.... :D
