This would be an extreme budget PC basically so....would the new APUs from AMD be powerful enough to capture footage from games like dota 2, starcraft 2 and newer games? thats basically all i need a new PC for, i dont need it to run at 120 fps on ultra

Mean like the A-10

It would be a stretch at best, assuming you're looking to play the game at the same time you are capturing it. I stream League of Legends, and it taxes my i7 920 around 80% usage to do 1080p. If you were doing something lower than 720p, it might work, but you'd likely have to have really low settings.

The fastest Trinity APU can't really even play newer titles on the higher settings, let alone do video capture along with it. You can check out a couple of good Trinity reviews here:

Ive read in a few places that it runs at about as fast as an i5, and i could always get a video card later for crossfire, i think it would be my best bet considering my situation...i had 400 saved but thats down to 140...curse you life.

And its also really RAM dependent isn't it?

Like if i can record at about 30 FPS on Low graphic settings im all set my monitor is 1600x900, but ive found running at 1280x720(Whichever it is) basically doubles the fps with my current laptop

Seems to have some good transcoding capabilities...Are there any future plans for the FM2 socket? or news...at all?

The graphics performance is better than i5's integrated graphics, but the processing performance (assuming a second or third gen i5) is much slower.

RAM speed does have a pretty big effect on Trinity's performance, yes. I would get the highest speed RAM possible for the motherboard.

I'm really not sure - I know that AMD is planning to iterate further on this platform, but I haven't heard where their APU stuff is heading.

ya, from the reviews and stuff i've seen the A-10 looks to be a bit better than an i3 in some places, and just below an i5....hmmm

The multi-threading is fairly good and i think thats what will help the most with capture footage as well.

I'm sure they'll do something with it, but it would probably come out in like another year, if i have money by then i might get it.

1886, 8GBs of RAM looks like itll be good for helping the video part out.

It would be able to run Dota 2 at least by itself right?

I think such a build would have no problem playing Dota 2 on reasonably high settings. Not so sure about streaming it, though.

Ya...i have no need for streaming, i use bandicam atm to capture footage and it works fairly well, i figure a CPU with twice the power of my current one and a lot better video would be able to handle it much better

HAF 912 Coolmaster Case with 1 200mm fan on the top and fully loaded with 4 120mm fans

3TB External Hard drive, which i will tear open and use that hard drive unless i get the money for an SSD before hand...in which case it will be my secondary drive...

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
