Website idea for class project.

I have to design a website for my visual communications class. My idea is to have an iPod and a giant hand as the cursor and you scroll through the navigation menu just like you would be selecting songs on an iPod.

My question to you is, what kind of scripting would i need to do this. Also what programs I would need. (I dont need to know about the illustration of the iPod and hand, I just need to know about the code/scripting i would need to learn.

as far as a giant hand, i think basic CSS can do that if you have a .cur file that acts as your hand.. and then as far as the scrolling goes, im sure there's already a javascript program that does what you need

so now to answer your question

programs needed:
notepad++ or similar for writing code
FTP program (to upload files, I recommend filezilla)

coding languages needed:
html: (for the website)
css: for the mouse and to control the looks of the website
javascript: for the interactive/non-static scrolling part

I would do something like that in Flash, but I think Slappy is right about it being possible in basic web programming. You should make it so that if you're running Windows you get errors every time you do something, like I get when I use iPods.
