What is Newgen

Hey, I'm looking on these forums and I've found a lot of replies involving newgen. I have no clue what newgen is and if I did know it may help a lot with my own maps and my help with others maps so could someone please tell me what it is?

Basically, NewGen is just an extension to WE that helps do things easier and bypass some of the limiting stuff that blizzard included, such as doodad limits or terrain palettes.

Well NOT EXACTLY no limits. There are "limit breaking" kind of things like pseudo support for OOP, and the ability to define the raw code of the object you're creating and some other things. Array size limits still apply, though Jass helper "does a limit bypass" which is actually just doing the work arounds for you in the background. File size limit still applies, etc.

The main thing I have it for is Jasshelper and the text editor for Jass and global declaration freedom, which I'd find it hard to live without.
