ok so let me start by saying my friend messed up a computer and didn't know what she was doing.... she did something while in windows i believe.

i get this message when booting up that says:

"reboot and select proper boot device
or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key_"

ok so after that i went into the bios and set the boot priority to what it is supposed to be:
1- cd-rom
2- Hdd
3- disabled

and after that i still got the message.
well then i noticed that the bios is not even recognizing the HDD,
its a sata drive, and in the bios where it list the detected components it just says
not detected for either of my sata slots.

im pretty sure the HDD is working i can feel the disk spinning inside.
could it have just died??

help please??
thank you!

Check your BIOS and make sure the SATA is enabled.

sata is enabled because the bios recognizes the sata cdrom drive
why would it not recognize the HDD, unless there is something else im missing.
