I've been waiting for this patch... a few thigs that i noticed on the patch notes that i love are coming up today, such as mage improvements and increased mount speed... but palas got rly nerfed.

And some nice changes for Shaman, especially Wind Shear a dedicated interrupting spell will be great :D

Anyone tested Isle of Conquest on the PTR? I joined the queue, but got bored waiting after a while so I just didn't bother :(

Now DKs are weaker too, though
My GM was saying that DK's (well, Blood spec DK's at least) were getting a buff o.o At least I think he did...

Ret's didn't get the nerf hammer as hard as you think...

  • Exorcism: Now has a 1.5 second cast time, but can once again be used on players.
  • Sacred Shield: When a paladin casts Flash of Light on a target with this buff, they also now place a heal-over-time effect on the target, healing that target for 100% of the Flash of Light amount over 12 seconds.
  • Seal of Blood: This ability has been removed.
  • Seal of the Martyr: This ability has been removed.
  • Art of War: Now only applies to melee critical hits, but will make your next Flash of Light or Exorcism instant. In addition, this talent now provides notification in the floating combat text when it activates.
  • Crusader Strike: Damage reduced to 75% weapon damage to match the new 4-second cooldown. Mana cost reduced to 5% of base mana.
  • Seal of Command: Redesigned. This seal now deals 36% weapon damage on every swing, and deals substantially less judgement damage.
  • Vindication: Redesigned. Now lowers target attack power, is consistent and does not stack with Demoralizing Shout.

As you can see the only nerf to Ret Paladins was Judgement Damage, Seal of Blood / Martyr, and Art of War. Everything else, is a buff.

Exorcism: Buff.
Sacred Shield: Buff.
Art of War: Semi-Buff, can now make exorcism an instant cast for those kill shot moments, but only procs from melee crits.
Crusader Strike: Semi-Buff, less initial damage (aka burst), but greater constant damage (aka higher DPS)
Seal of Command: Buff, it's the new Seal of Blood, but without the recoil effect.
Vindication: Semi-Buff. Against casters, its a nerf, against melee, its a buff.

The only thing blizzard did to ret paladins was to make their initial damage lower, but constant damage higher; meaning no 100 - 0'd during HoJ, but can kill you while your still healing if the pally is smart and saves his Art of War proc for the right moment.

Horray for easier to kill pallies.

Quite the opposite, with the Sacred Shield buff, it's now harder to kill a ret paladin...

The class that got the big nerf was DK's.

My DK lost around 2.5k hp. Double cooldown on shield wall. Also frost strike can now miss, parry, dodge?

So now my threat-per-second goes from around 7k to 2k-3k as frost tank.

And goretusk hit me for 22k damage on 25 man heroic (Trial of Champions)... with 2340 gear score.. 4/5 conq with 5 BiS pieces of gear.. while the DRUID tank with barely a 2,000 gearscore was getting hit for around 10k-15k.

BUFF DEATH KNIGHT TANKS.

On the other hand, Unholy PvP and Blood DPS is decent. Dual Wield frost is also decent.

Derr.... Just because your frost strikes miss/parry/dodge you lost around 5k threat? lols. Sounds like you need some hit n expertise.

It hits for less, Bladed Armor gives less AP now because of toughness nerf, I have 7.51% hit, it's not capped but shouldn't be that much of an effect, imo just frost strike is gimped..

It's like 50 less AP? Which is what like what 200 damage at maximum?

I have 7.51% hit, it's not capped but shouldn't be that much of an effect, imo just frost strike is gimped..

It lost 5% damage and the hit/dodge/parry shizzle, and you lost 5k dps?

If you have such problems with frost, why don't you try blood or unholy instead of calling out for DK buffs? :rolleyes:

DKS? Being on-par with other tanks? Blasphemy! They must be better than all others, they're a hero class, they're better!

You guys have been the top tanks and dps for a long time now, you had this coming.

And nerf to Frost Strike =/= a loss of 5k tps. IF you really did lose 5k tps, its you.

All in all i like the patch i guess. Mount changes are nice. Not sure why level 20s need 60% and 40 need 100%. Reg. Flying needed the buff, didnt make sense before. Lolisieum is so-so, although fighting not one but two jormungars that are tougher than titans doesnt make sense. Totem bar is nice, bad positioning, i like totem timers more. DK nerf, yay. Twinks gone, yay. Overall easier from 1-80, yay.

Im satisfied.

It's not a complete 5k tps.. it's on average.. tps is very low compared to before.. and it's not my abilitity to tank or gear either, i have succesfully tanked ulduar hard modes before but now i was replaced by a paladin tank have resorted to healing raids on my disc priest... :(

I don't think it's DK that needs to be ajust, it's you.

I have to agree now. Unholy DPS is dead. My tanking spec out-DPS's my Unholy DPS Spec.

The only thing the nerfed in Unholy is SS, so there is people using Obliterate instead, why don't you try it out? :)
