It is a pretty decent price given that the six core Intel processor is over $1000. Though, that one does have Hyperthreading....

But we aren't rich enough.

I'm sticking to AMD 6-cores for now, unless someone tells me that Starcraft 2 won't run at Ultra settings with AMD 6-cores.

Intel has the high-end, but it does not have anything for those with smaller budgets. For the price, AMD definitely has the better performance.

The only problem with AMD's, is that they do not multi-thread as well as Intel's, and the higher clock rates only seem to make up for the smaller caches and this.

Highly doubt it. There's only so much drivers can do and it seems the i7s are still up by a lot.

The i7 930 is cheaper than that AMD CPU....

But it's quad core and clocked at 2.8ghz. And the AMD Phenom II X6 standard edition is cheaper than the i7 930. The black edition is 3.2ghz and can be overclocked.

Well, the deal is that you won't see performance increases in games due to 6 cores as opposed to 4 - they just aren't set up for that many threads (at least not yet). You only really notice it in applications that are heavily thread-optimized. For most other applications, the i7 wins even though it only has 4 cores. Intel's architecture still reigns supreme here.

Good for ya. :thup: Unfortunately, countries like the Philippines tend to be a bit behind on the cutting edge PC hardware. :banghead:

And if ever it will be available here, prices seem to be a tad higher. :nuts:
