I lurk around, reading news and keeping an eye on things, every once and a while I'll make pertinent comments or deal with minor issues should the need arise.
They only censor stuff with many swear words and very bad language and stuff.
I have observed the young and after years of observation I have finally found out that "fuck you" is slang for "Hello good master, welcome to the tavern of the rising sun!", while "hey motherfucker" means "I sense a soul in search of wisdom!".
At least that's what I gathered from the frequency those words are used, the context, and the reaction of the conversation partner.
I guess that this is the reason why fuck and such words aren't censored. You need to use REALLY bad words in order for the automatic censorship algorithm to kick in.
Hehe, fun fact is that at our project we just did the same change (from Strength/Agility/Vitality/Energy to Attack and co.) independently from Blizzard for simplicity purposes. I was against this change at first, but since it seemed to make everything much easier to understand, we went for it in the end.
And now this random guy comes and tells us he doesn't understand it now. GRRRRR.
I am working on getting access to the old news portal under a different URL for those that would rather use that for news before we get a different news view.
It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while
I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
